Dayna had trouble sleeping Wednesday night. She slept very late on Thursday. I began making phone calls. I called the pharmacy to refill my prescriptions. I called JCP&L to change the electric into my name.
First brick wall of the day. JCP&L noted my past due balance and said payment in full would need to be made before I could turn on service. I told them I paid through the collection agency that contacted me. They verified that and then said they need a deposit. They could take a check over the phone or a credit card number. i told them I did not have either. The man said they needed $301.32 upfront, and the landlord has the service to be turned off tomorrow. Sigh.
I called my social worker. I left a message. She has not called me back. So tomorrow I will call again. If i do not hear from her by the time I pick Dad up and get to the apartment, I will leave Dad and Dayna painting and go sit in Social Services until someone talks to me. Everything in the apartment is electric - fridge, stove, a/c, heat... When I met with the social worker the first time she said they would help with past due amounts and deposits, so hopefully they can call and vouch for the amount so service isn't shut off.
